A favorite Atlanta neighborhood Italian restaurant since 1989
Pasta Vino has been a favorite Atlanta neighborhood Italian restaurant since 1989. Located in the heart of Buckhead at the Peachtree Battle Promenade, we offer convenient parking, a "back-yard" style patio and romantic dining in a friendly and intimate setting.
A great place to sop up the slow-simmered red sauce with homemade bread and relax with a glass of wine, Pasta Vino is "in-town" without attitude. "Small Bite" and family friendly... NY style pizza by the slice, small plates of your favorite pasta rustica... chicken, veal, seafood and fish house specialties. We also have gluten free pasta for those with special dietary needs.
Open seven nights a week, we do not take reservations and welcome you to put your name on our call ahead list (excluding holidays).

For many, Pasta Vino has been around forever. For me, I was a customer for 15 years and I’ve owned the place for six. Nico – a NY Italian restauranteer – brought family & staff to Atlanta/Peachtree Battle in the late 80’s to create an Italian Food enclave in what is now Pasta Vino, a trattoria, and Abruzzi, an upscale Ristorante. Abruzzi was at the top of its game for many years as one of Atlanta’s best high-end Italian Restaurants. (You can still Google it, it closed several years ago). Pasta Vino, the lesser stepchild and for many years a pizza dive with cheap décor and inconsistent service, survived. One of the first things I realized when I got behind the scenes at Pasta Vino was that it had a lot of talent and a lot of heart but little professionalism. Perhaps its weakness is its strength in this case. I still think of it as a diamond in the rough. I wonder if we will ever make it to that “real restaurant” stage. Still, people here seem to truly love their work and try hard to please. Guests have been coming here for years and personally engage and seem to really enjoy themselves. On its good days, Pasta Vino operates like a feel-good movie.
Pasta Vino is fun. The guests at PV are special people. They call Pasta Vino their kitchen away from home. Many know the staff and call them by name. Some can be seen eating here several times a week and on most nights the tables mingle with couples, families and children from the neighborhood. The wait staff has learned how to order their food cooked the way they want it; bring the bread they want (several times I have tried to change those horrible pizza rolls, but they wont go away??) and the menu they know is from memory. There is a friendliness that is many times missing in Buckhead. No fussiness, just real people being real. Couples linger over their wine, families mingle, children play and an occasional dog lies leashed to a table on the patio.
Sometimes I worry that the wait staff needs new blood, they have been here forever. But who would you replace? Not Jay, the friendly guy who would really give you the shirt off his back; Not Sofi, who spends most of his waking hours at Pasta Vino and who never, ever, says a negative word about his customers; Not Antonio who would walk through a fire without complaining; and Not Zee, a great waiter who can juggle just about anything you put on his plate and has great hair. The service can have it’s rough spots, but the people do care, they care a lot.
Kids love Pasta Vino's pizza. The food is made from scratch. The sauces start early in the morning and simmer all day. The chicken broth is reduced into a rich golden broth. The grated cheese in the pizza shaker is not kraft, it is imported parmesiana regianna cut from a giant wheel and grated in the kitchen. The whole fish are filleted, the veal leg butchered and the chicken cut and pounded in our kitchen. The meatballs are hand rolled, the gnocchi starts from a pile of flour on the counter. The bright purple eggplants are cut and stacked side-by-side looking like a photo shoot before they are made into Eggplant Parmesan, our signature dish. The Italian sausage is cut into those little slices but it starts from long links that are cooked in our oven. The roasted red peppers are cut and baked in our pizza oven. The salad dressings are made daily. The pizza and bread dough are mixed in our kitchen and get the mandatory refrigerator rise overnight. The garlic is chopped by hand, the pesto starts with bags of fresh basil. Just about everything begins and ends with Tomas. Estaban is a jack of all trades, helping out on the line and bouncing in between to make pizza when necessary. They prep it, simmer it, saute it and put it on your plate. They are totally amazing craftsmen and they work without attitude.
We still do not take reservations but you may call ahead and put your name on the list.

Pasta Vino is one of my top 3 restaurants in Atlanta. My boyfriend and I love their goat cheese and apple ravioli and fish with lemon capers. This restaurant is in the neighborhood for ever as well as most of the employees. We love their outdoor patio dining as much as inside.

I love Italian food! In restaurants, I enjoy when it resembles the home cooked meals that I am used to from back in NY. The last few times i was at Pasta Vino, I had the eggplant and the pasta Fra Diavolo. Very similar to my Aunt and Mom's dishes respectfully. This is very rare for Atlanta I have to say. Great convenient location, service is fantastic and surprisingly quick for such great food. I give it a 9.5!

Best kept secret in Atlanta! The food is divine (love the veal dishes & the linguine bolognese (ask for it!)...& Oh the desserts are great...Jay's cheesecakes will send you over the edge! The atmosphere both inside & out are great & the servers...we love them all. If you haven't been there yet, please give it a try...You won't be disappointed! & when you go, if there is a wait - feel free to ask for a glass of wine or soft drink while you do! Enjoy!

I LOVE Pasta Vino. It has very good food and its a great neighborhood place to go in Buckhead when you want authentic Italian without pretense. The wait staff go out of their way to please you and the décor is warm & cozy. My favorite dish is the grilled salmon with lemon honey glaze but the chicken marsala is a close second. Their marinara with meatballs is just like the spaghetti I remember as a child, from my Italian neighbor – great to sop up with fresh baked rolls. Pizza is real NY style, a little too cheesy for me but my husband loves it. Check out the house-fried potato chips when you walk in the door, you wont eat just one!

Pasta Vino is a neighborhood staple. You know what you're going to get and you feel comfortable going. It's not a showy, trendy type place but a family, local, casual/dressy date night place. It's dimly lit and offers standard Italian fare that doesn't disappoint. Order the fish cooked to buttery perfection or the chicken francese. They now offer gluten free pasta which is a treat! The 4-cheese sauce is heaven. Must try at least once and you'll add this to your repertoire of "go-to" restaurants.

Love this place! Great hidden gem if you love amazing gnocchi and vodka sauce. This place home makes its gnocchi and you can tell because it is the most tender, delicious, melt-in-your-mouth pasta I have ever had. I wish I could speak more to the rest of the menu, but I'm sentenced to life for that one dish-gladly.

DELICIOUS! The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Service was excellent. But most importantly the food was incredible. The goat cheese and apple ravioli was both unique and fabulous!

It's been a while since I've been to Pasta Vina and this place was a little hard for me to find at first but I absolutely love the food. I went here for a casual work lunch with some of my co-workers and the service was excellent. Every one seemed to enjoy the food and we got everything we ordered in a timely fashion.

I love this place. It's friendly, laid-back, comfortable, easy. Whether I'm there for salad and a glass of wine on a weeknight, or a leisurely full meal on a weekend, it's just perfect. And it's the best place for take-out pizza in Buckhead. Try the green bowl for lunch!

First visit with my wife last night turned out to be a memorable experience. The staff was very helpful and surprisingly responsive; 3 staff members serviced our table (My dining pet peeves include finished dishes taking up space and half empty drink glasses) . Service time was on par or better than our usual dining spots. My Chicken Parm was perfect (covered with cheese, fresh herbs, tender chicken) . My wife finished the Gnocchi with shrimp and capers, only sharing one bite with me (the caper/gnocchi mix proved to be a nice counterbalance) . Next followed the Tiramisu; To Die For. I'm telling everyone to give this fantastic restaurant a visit.
